MY THOUGHTS:
Wow.....loved this book.  I have read several different books based on Bible stories lately, all from different authors and Love Amid the Ashes was everything I hoped for.  I loved reading about Job, learning more about him and the fact that Mesu was able to take a story from the Bible and turn it into a novel while keeping true to the Bible is simply amazing to me.

The story begins with a time chart which was extremely helpful to me, I also enjoyed the different Bible verses at the beginning of each chapter.  As I read this story I could feel the pain that Dinah felt her entire life and the great love she had despite her cruel treatment.  I simply loved her interactions with her young maid, she showed her so much kindness, but as you will learn, Dinah had a very kind soul.

Job, he was one who could so easily be disliked, yet his character also showed much compassion and love, how he could survive a wife like Sitis I do not know, this shows how great his spirit was, as for Sitis, her life took quite an unexpected turn which only goes to show us that we cannot take our happiness nor our life as we know it for granted.  As the drama unfolds in this book it keeps you turning the pages as you wait to see what will happen to the great city of UZ and those living within it's walls.

I cannot wait to see Mesu Andrews' next book!
